Thrilled to be performing with three wonderful friends, baritone Graham McGregor-Smith, soprano Kirsty Taylor Stokes, and accompanist Jo Shepherd, in an afternoon of English art song in Ascot on April 15th.
Here’s a few more details, beautifully put by Graham!
We’ll be singing works by Britten, Butterworth, Finzi, Ireland, Lehmann, Vaughan Williams & Venables amongst many others, to include settings of works by Auden, Housman, Masefield, Shakespeare and many more. The programme is full of absolutely cracking stuff, which will completely blow you away, whether you’re already deep in the weeds of English Song or haven’t a clue what I’m on about.
Tickets are £10 and places are limited. Simply visit the Facebook event page for details on how to secure your place.
So please check your diaries and do come along for some fabulous English Song in the Spring sunshine on a Sunday afternoon.
There will be suitable refreshments available pre-show, during the interval and post-show too, and if the weather is good, we’ll be outside enjoying the garden.
If you have any questions or would like further details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Delighted to be singing again with my fellow mezzo, Daniela Bailey – we last performed together as mother and daughter (Madam Larina and Olga) in Opera at Bearwood’s production of Eugene Onegin in 2011.
We’ll be performing a beautiful and varied programme of Spanish song and mélodie, with Geoff Burford at the piano, and I will be singing some of my absolute favourite Poulenc works.
Tickets are available now from South Hill Park’s box office – all are most welcome!
