English Song Recital, April 15th 2018, 2:30pm

CotswoldsThrilled to be performing with three wonderful friends, baritone Graham McGregor-Smith, soprano Kirsty Taylor Stokes, and accompanist Jo Shepherd, in an afternoon of English art song in Ascot on April 15th.

Here’s a few more details, beautifully put by Graham!

We’ll be singing works by Britten, Butterworth, Finzi, Ireland, Lehmann, Vaughan Williams & Venables amongst many others, to include settings of works by Auden, Housman, Masefield, Shakespeare and many more. The programme is full of absolutely cracking stuff, which will completely blow you away, whether you’re already deep in the weeds of English Song or haven’t a clue what I’m on about.

So please check your diaries and do come along for some fabulous English Song in the Spring sunshine on a Sunday afternoon.

There will be suitable refreshments available pre-show, during the interval and post-show too, and if the weather is good, we’ll be outside enjoying the garden.

An Evening of French and Spanish Art Song – May 5th, 2018 7:30pm

Delighted to be singing again with my fellow mezzo, Daniela Bailey – we last performed together as mother and daughter (Madam Larina and Olga) in Opera at Bearwood’s production of Eugene Onegin in 2011.

We’ll be performing a beautiful and varied programme of Spanish song and mélodie, with Geoff Burford at the piano, and I will be singing some of my absolute favourite Poulenc works.

May 21st 2016 – Duruflé Requiem

Caroline is delighted to announce that following a successful debut with Charlton Kings Choral Society in November’s concert, she has been invited back to perform the mezzo solo in Duruflé’s beautiful Requiem in May 2016.

Christmas with OperaCoast – Two Russian Christmas galas, 13th & 18th December

Caroline is next looking forward to performing with OperaCoast in their Russian Christmas Gala series in Brighton and London respectively.

Caroline, along with her colleagues Alberto Sousa, Nia Coleman, Sebastian Charlesworth, Steven East, Martyna Kasprzyk-Peralta and Nicole Panizza at the piano, will perform a selection of well-loved and lesser-known gems from the Russian operatic tradition.

Opera South Traviata rehearsals underway

Nabucco – Kennet Opera 13-15 November 2014

Caroline is thrilled to confirm she will be performing the role of Fenena in Verdi’s Nabucco later this year.

Directed by Ruth Mariner with Ben Hamilton as musical director, this production of Nabucco will be a first for Kennet Opera, and Caroline is very much looking forward to being part of its debut.

Bach Mass in G Minor and Vivaldi Magnificat with John S. Davies Singers May 28th 2014

Caroline is delighted to be joining the John S. Davies Singers for the first time to sing the alto solos in Bach’s Mass in G Minor and Vivaldi’s Magnificat.

The concert will take place in the beautiful cathedral of St David in Pembrokeshire, a place which holds lovely memories for Caroline – it was here that she recorded with Serendipity and Vivace Singers for the St David’s Day edition of BBC’s Songs of Praise in 2001.

Masterclass with Della Jones 24 – 25/03/2014

Caroline and her colleagues at WIAV have had the great privilege of working with the wonderful Della Jones this week. Caroline sang ‘Eboli’s final aria from Don Carlo, ‘O don fatale’, and thoroughly enjoyed both her session and listening to her colleagues work. Della’s expertise and guidance has been absolutely inspirational, and we are all hugely grateful to Dennis, Nuccia, Jane, Euros and WIAV for the opportunity. We hope she’ll be back soon!

 

The week continues with a gala concert (Wednesday March 26th 7:30) at the University Chapel at Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus. Christmas Concert given by the students of WIAV – Glanfa Stage, Wales Millennium Centre December 2nd 2013

Caroline is delighted to be participating in an eclectic selection of seasonal items with her colleagues at the Wales International Academy of Voice.

September 21st 2013 – Santolina Singers

Caroline will be performing at a private function for Santolina Riding School and Stables as part of the Santolina Singers, a specially created group for the event.

Caroline will be singing favourites from the operatic world including Carmen and Lakmé, and is especially looking forward to the rumour that there might well be Spanish dressage accompanying the Habañera
